The Purple Lady I don't really identity with the concept of writer's block because if I don't know what to say, I default to writing about not being able to write. There's actually a poem in This Phoenix Speaks for proof. Look it up. You might break your writer's block trying the exercise out!

The Purple Lady As I look back, I've loved writing ever since I learned how. But I began writing poetry in earnest in high school. My high school English teacher, Mrs. Martin, taught with passion and wisdom, and I was shaped by her ability to convey intellectual things with literature. She taught me the power of a story.
