Jonathan Firth My project which is nearest to completion is "The Science of Creativity
Subtitle: 20 Evidence-Based Strategies to Advance your Creative Work".

The blurb is as follows: Boost the effectiveness and the quality of your creative thinking with these evidence-based strategies. This book provides a simple, ready-to-use set of techniques, rooted in cognitive science, which range from idea generation to effective work habits. They can be applied to artistic pursuits such as writing and painting, but also to business, hobbies, and much more. Divided into two sections - "thoughts and ideas" and "craft and habits" - all of the strategies are practical rather than theoretical, and are deeply rooted in science, with explanations which are enriched with accessibly summarised research evidence.
Jonathan Firth I found textbooks a really good way to get started. They developed my writing skills and helped me to develop good working relationships with publishers. After having done my textbooks, I never seemed to be short of options for future books and have been able to expand into other genres.
Jonathan Firth To be totally honest, I never experience this. I think the main reason is that I usually have a couple of projects on the go, and I work on whichever one I am more in the mood for (or the one that has the closest deadline).
