Richard C. Conrath Blood Moon Rising is my most recent. The second in a trilogy. The third book is complete and will come out in late Spring. Blood Moon Rising is about human trafficking. The idea for writing it came from a video that played on all of the major media outlets. It showed a young girl being led out of a car wash by a man while her parents were distracted in the waiting room. It didn't end well for her. And, unfortunately, I carry those images around with me forever! But at least she will always be alive for me.
Richard C. Conrath Mostly my father (a factory worker) and my mother who were both published writers/poets. Our evenings were spent (all seven kids and parents) trying to identify a line of poetry that someone in the group would share. It was such great fun, in the winter, when it was snowing outside especially and the fireplace was burning and bringing heat into the room.
Richard C. Conrath It's hard to share this because I don't want to give away the ending. But...it takes on a theme (that shall remain--for the time--a secret) about a young con, turned private detective, who is weighed down by a terrible family secret that if shared will ruin him forever! Is that enough? Can't tell you much more (maybe over drinks sometime!).
Richard C. Conrath I wake up in the morning and discover that my nightmares are real! And the reality is, I'm not sure that they aren't!
Richard C. Conrath I think it would be to Alice's Wonderland. I dreamed about it as a kid and I've never let go of the fantasy!
Richard C. Conrath Write something every day! And never give up writing! Persistence is the key.
Richard C. Conrath Just the thrill of writing. There is nothing like it! Telling stories and entertaining people with them!
Richard C. Conrath Where the Crawdads Sing, Maltese Falcon, Hillbilly Elegy
Richard C. Conrath I write every day whether or not I feel like it. I ignore writer’s block.?
