D.L. Fletcher HI Krithika!

I love your name! :)

I am so happy to meet you! Unfortunately, I don't think either of my books are appropriate for someone of your age. I will say that I am impressed and very happy to know that someone of your age is reading. There is nothing better then getting absorbed into a whole other world is there? Even more impressive is that you are navigating Goodreads. I struggle with it at times, so super cool!
D.L. Fletcher That is far to difficult a question. There have been lots of fictional worlds I have read about and still on occasion dream of visiting them. I can't possibly pick one.
D.L. Fletcher After viewing the beautiful three story Victorian home I just had to stay there, and hurridly packed my belongings eager to move in. My first night in my new mansion I crawled into my bed ready for peaceful slumber only to spend the night terrorized by beings I couldn't see, barely escaping the home with my life.
D.L. Fletcher I don't have a list for the year as I pick my books based on mood, but I did just finish The Dog Who Saved Me, and I have The Yellow Wife, Dead Wake: The Last Crossing Of The Lusitania, and Between Two Kingdoms: A Memoir Of A Life Interrupted on my shelf waiting to be read.
D.L. Fletcher Hi Diane!

I hope all is well with you and your family; staying safe in these weird times. 2020 has really been something eh?

I know. It has been a long time in the making. I got a couple puppies that were monopolizing my time outside of work. They're grown and trained pretty well now. Plus my daughter had another baby. Life has been crazy! To add to that I was stuck on my twist for A Creation of Yesterday. I really wanted to close off the only thing left in book one. That all said you reached out at a really good time! Two days ago I figured it out! The book is now full steam ahead! I have 30 chapters as of today! I am guesstimating it will be out just after Christmas if it continues this pace. End of January is my target. Since I don't have an editor I like to give my books a few read throughs and catch all the inconsistencies, spelling etc I can. I really hope you like it as much as the first book. My plan is to make this a 3 book series. Hopefully not with 4 years in between but...

Thanks so much for reaching out! Stay safe.

Cheers,
D.L Fletcher
D.L. Fletcher Well the Creation series I have had in my mind for many years. I have always wanted to write and that is one story that played on repeat in my head. The Dying Butterfly - well that came from a dream actually. I haven't gotten to the part of my dream that sparked this book yet. My husband loves Zombi books, and I like dark romance. I thought if I wrote a book for him he might actually read one. He did and he loved it! I really enjoyed writing it too. It is a romance, but not the traditional. It is Zombi, but not the traditional. I think that is what I enjoyed most about it.

I have an idea for another book. That idea also was from a dream that I had. I am still working out the details so I have only got a short outline and the first chapter. It'll come though...

I guess with all that said I get inspired by dreams that I have. LOL Silly I guess, but that is how it works for me. What can I say? I have interesting dreams!

D.L. Fletcher My advice is to write - even if you aren't great at it. While you are writing read - Read all kinds of books. They give you ideas - They give teach you how to write.

Don't let negativity get you down. We all face it here and there. It is the way of the world. Everyone has an opinion and not are all in your favor.

Don't be shy. Let your mind go! Let it take you where it wants!
D.L. Fletcher What I love about being a writer is the freedom of thought. The freedom in creating a world outside of this one. I can get so lost in a story and the characters. One of my favorite parts of writing is seeing the direction the characters take seemingly all on their own. What I mean is even in being the writer there is an element of surprise - I have an idea - I start to write the idea and oddly enough I wind up on a similar path but rarely exactly where I was striving to go. The story twists and turns in ways I hadn't planned. Thus the characters taking a direction of their own. Mostly I love that the story ends where I want it to. So many times I am reading, so enthralled in the story - I want more, so much more and it ends. But not when I write it. When I write it, it is over when I say it is over. I love that!
D.L. Fletcher I don't generally have writers block. I actually suffer the opposite. I have so many ideas and very little time. I do however suffer with remembering the ideas that came to me at what are almost always times when I don't have a pen, dealing with competing priorities at work and can't pause to write, or just as I am dozing. The few times I do suffer writer's block I go back and work on my other books in an effort to perfect them - but I don't think I will EVER get them to the status I strive for. Either way I will keep trying.
