Great question! I would travel through a fictional book to Paris in the 1920s, during the time when authors such as Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Gertrude hung out together. There, I would wander and take in the romance of Paris as a city, and bask in the creativity of these writers.

Relationships between girls who are best friends holds incredible interest for me. When I was twelve years old, my father took me to a tourist attraction of a village set in the 19th century. It tweaked my curiosity at the time and was never forgotten. So, it seemed natural for me to put these two scenarios together: best friends and time-travel to the 19th century. What could possibly go wrong?

Much of my inspiration comes from the past. I write about teens because it feels like a vital part of me stayed behind. And I think this is what enables me to recall even the smallest details of the struggles, the romance, the friendships and the experiences of my youth. But, also, every day events and occurrences inspire me, from hearing conversations to observing others as they go about their daily routines.

The best thing about being a writer to me is the ability to muster up emotion in a reader. When someone tells me a story of mine affected them emotionally, it's pretty amazing. It's like part of the story has touched the reader's soul in a relatable way.

Okay, I have to knock on wood here. I haven't had an episode of writer's block (yet).
