Maggie Foster Wooo! I was living in Corpus Christie at one point and left some film to be developed in a shop that did that. Very old school and it was a long time ago. When I went back to pick it up, the shop was gone and the neighboring store owners said nothing such as I described had ever been there. I never found out what had happened. Good thing there were no dead bodies in my pics! I can imagine either a mental health problem (mine, probably), or a cover-up, which would be a lot more fun to write about! And Corpus would make a good venue. Thanks for asking! :> Maggie
Maggie Foster Narnia! Talk to the animals, wander around, maybe see Aslan.
Maggie Foster I am working my way through a large stack of books I read long ago, to see what gems I can find on my own shelves. The Coronavirus has curtailed my usual buying habits!
Maggie Foster If it's real block, that means I have made a mistake. I start at the beginning and try to put myself in the mind of each character, asking what he/she wants to do today and for what reason. This usually shakes me loose and I start brainstorming. I also use my writing group to brainstorm specific situations and problems. They are great at starting the creative juices flowing again!!
Maggie Foster I get to hang out with my imaginary friends. ;>
Maggie Foster Write. Don't go to classes, don't read books about writing, don't collect blog posts, don't spend any time on social media. The other half of the equation is to read. Read books in your genre, read classics, read books that have been made into movies and look at the differences, read dialogue, read description, read, read, read! Then go write something. Every day.
Maggie Foster I am in deep revision on The Swick and the Dead, Book Two of the Loch Lonach series. Book Three is finished and just waiting on Book Two so I am trying to push it to publication.
Maggie Foster Writing gives me control over some of the things that dismay me in the real world.
Maggie Foster All of my ideas come from real life in one form or another. People are fascinating!
