Jim Stavis I did use a pump, but since my transplant I am no longer a diabetic. I am a big believer in the pump for improved blood sugar control. I fought getting one for a long time before my doctor almost ordered me to get one. I thanked him later as it made a big difference in my diabetic management.
Jim Stavis This can be a challenge for sure. The best thing you can do is speak to a diabetic educator which you should be able to find through your doctor. They can teach you how to assess the level of carbs that you are eating so that you can correctly take the right insulin level. I am a big believer of the insulin pump which can help you with blood sugar management.

Jim Stavis Writers block is part of the writing process. For me, I would walk away and come back to writing when ready. It’s like a stream - sometimes the water flows and other times it doesn’t. Be patient.
Jim Stavis My own life has created the blueprint of my book. The question for me has always how best to communicate the stories that I wanted convey.
Jim Stavis For me writing is a process. First I need to figure out what I want to say. Then I try and think of metaphors that allow me to creatively convey my thoughts. Why metaphors? Because if you can create a way that connects with the reader, than they can better relate to the message that I’m trying convey. After a bit, the story flows and begins to have a life of its own.
Jim Stavis I’ve just published my first book in using my story to inspire the reader in how to overcome adversity. I’ve also compiled a number of future chapters as business’s contend with adversity. Much of it has been derived from my 40 plus years of owning my own businesses.
This would be my second book after promoting the first one.
Jim Stavis The best thing about being a writer is to express your thoughts in such a way so that it becomes meaningful for the reader to want to read. It requires imagination, perspective and a sense of what will inspire the reader.
Jim Stavis Think about what makes your story unique and special.
How can you communicate that story in a way that is compelling for the reader? There are plenty of books out there. Why would someone want yours!
