I'm going back to my fantasy roots, writing a third person POV about a school for magic. And before you roll your eyes and scream "Derivative!" may I humbly submit that authors should write what they know, and I am a high school English teacher by day, so all my stories inevitably feature school in one way or another.

Set a deadline for completion; this really kicks you in the pants when all you want to do is binge watch Netflix shows. Oh, and also have a word count plot outline so you know if your pacing is off. I recommend K.M. Weiland's blog here on Goodreads for a stellar pacing guide.
