Hi! I would LOVE to see DL adapted for screen and am currently writing the treatment for a DL screenplay, so who knows! White Pines is very different, I hope you enjoy!

Hey Dan, thanks so much! I try and keep things as interesting for myself as possible, although repeated themes and character traits do creep in, as do some stylistic similarities. I'm incredibly keen to tackle a space horror novel, get more cosmic stuff under my belt, and dip my toes in dark fantasy. Also historic horror is enormous fun in terms of research so that'll be something for the future too. I want to stretch my skills as far as possible, basically- whole new worlds out there to explore!

Gosh, well remembered! Funnily enough I was looking at the old manuscript the other day. There hasn't been any recent development but I very much hope to revisit this in the next year if I can make time in the schedule, because I loved the idea- although it might not be science fiction if I wait too long ha

That's great. I love your writing voice and would love to see who you tackle sci-fi. Thanks for answering

I would say that short stories are an excellent entry way into the world of horror, particularly with the wealth of anthology horror podcasts out there today. Many writers start by writing shorts and subbing them to magazines, anthology calls and podcasts accepting submissions, and it is a wonderful way to practice the craft, become part of a thriving community and gather confidence as an author. Eventually, you'll have enough material to publish a collection as well if you want to go that route- this is how I started and it led to wonderful things for me. Beyond this, focus on supporting other writers in your space and boosting their work, invest time in social media, get to know the huge array of lovely book reviewers out there, and spend time building relations with reputable indie publishers- many welcome interaction and the indie tribe is putting out some amazing work. Oh and don't be afraid of rejection- rejection is fuel for the fire! Good luck :)
