Imber Blu The house I grew up in was not on any documents as if it never existed. I lived there for 16 years and when we moved the house split in two and was buried by the owners. Odd.
Imber Blu Currently I have had the honor of working on a collaborative novel with 29 other extremely talented people. While my contribution to it may have passed, the book itself is still being finished and I’m anxiously awaiting for everyone to be able to purchase it and enjoy.

Also, independently, I’m about 21,000 words into my WIP.
It’s a secret but I can tell you it’s about barriers and walls of many kinds.
💋🖤
Imber Blu Silence. Most often I find inspiration through silence and just letting my imagination take control of my thoughts. I can see a news article on a Monday and just in my quite time on a Thursday remember it and wonder why, how, and “what if”.
Sometimes it’s much simpler. I have frequent nightmares. Most don’t make sense but I can remove a horrific part of that dream and create a world around it that no one would want to be in.
Everyday life can be an inspiration if you look at through the eyes of creativity and wonder... what if?
Imber Blu I woke at about 6am to see my daughter standing at the foot of my bed. I was just about to ask, “what’s wrong honey?”, when I heard her call my name from her bedroom.
Imber Blu My most recent book is Whitefeather Black Raven and I got the idea from stories handed down throughout my family and the Smoky Mountain Region of East Tennessee.
There’s a good blend of my families traditions and stories with mythological tales from the Cherokee people in general. So I just wondered “what if the Raven Mockers came back in current time?”
Imber Blu I just finished reading My Best Friend’s Exorcism and highly recommend it if you enjoy coming of age thrillers.
Right now I’m reading N0S4A2 - and really enjoying that - by Joe Hill as well as reading, for not the first time, Salem’s Lot and Finders Keepers by Stephen King.
Imber Blu Don’t just write; read.
You’ll learn a lot about your own writing by reading others works.
And keep writing. No matter what people may say, just keep writing.
There’s no wrong way to write.
There really is an audience for everyone.
Lastly I’d say write with passion & then read what you’ve written.
Edit, read, edit, read, submit to editing, edit, read.
You should never publish or submit your first draft... unless you’re superhuman. In which case I fully support your otherworldly gifts. 💋
Imber Blu First I would say readers.
Readers are the best thing about writing. To see someone reading your work, enjoying your work, offering criticism, etc.
That’s the best thing.
Second: Finding the things in ordinary life that send sparks into your imagination that can’t be stifled until they’re on paper.
It’s not unlike being an adrenaline addict. It’s very similar. The NEED to write starts by a desire to create. Once you have an idea it’s euphoric.
The process after can be challenging but the finale is again euphoric.
The greatest thing is that you know you can just keep having these moments forever.
Imber Blu I read. Writer’s block is our arch nemesis but the best way to climb over the wall is to read your way to the top and then jump over the edge back into writing.
Some unwinding, a glass of wine & a good book will get you through more in life than just writer’s block but that’s my remedy. It works well.
