Steven B. Orkin It takes patience and discipline. You must trust that you will figure out how to proceed and continue writing. You have to disentangle your own thoughts and insecurities from the work. You must continue to attempt to work through the block, even if you only get a few words down. If you're unable to write, understand that the reason why very likely has nothing to do with the writing itself. Figure out what that is, start the process of dealing with it, and take another swing at the work.

The best technical writing advice I can give is to read your work out loud. If it doesn't sound right, chances are extremely high it is not written correctly. I use this technique constantly and it never fails me. Lastly, listen to Stephen King: "The adverb is not your friend."
