E.G. Ellory i view writer's block as a lack of cohesion in the story's narrative. Typically, my subconscious is telling me that the jigsaw of the story isn't fitting together correctly or the jigsaw isn't complete.

I stop writing and re-calibrate the part I'm unclear on. Often writer's block is realising you haven't turned the headlights on!

E.G. Ellory It's cliched but read a lot and write every day. It's a craft, after all, and all crafts need continuous practice.

Also, take time to find your voice. It's easy to fall into the style of your favourite writers when you're starting out, however, if you read and write enough, you'll find your own lane.
E.G. Ellory I'm working on a new thriller story called 'Mapping Shadows'. It's the third story in my 'Short Thrills' series, available on Amazon. The story centres around the discovery of a boy found asleep in the woods, waking with no name or memory. It's out on the 31st August 2019. I'll then being Book 2 in my Solomon Stone series of espionage thrillers. I wonder where he'll take me next!
E.G. Ellory The inspiration comes from the numerous (and often strange) ideas floating around in my mind. I try to stick to one story at a time but don't always succeed!
E.G. Ellory The idea for my most recent story, 'The Refuge', came from the book cover. Inspiration comes in many forms, however, sometimes the image on the book cover triggers the story - almost like pressing play on your remote control and watching the story unfold!
