Hi Joseph,
I would love to review your work. Either format is fine, I have apps for either one. I apologize for not being on here, there has been a lot going on but life is smoothing out once again so I'm ready to start reading and writing much more.
I look forward to corresponding and reviewing your work.

I have had writer's block many times over through my life, whether it was song lyrics, poetry or a novel I happened to be working on at that particular time.
Different things work for different people, in my case, I get a notepad or open a document on my PC these days. Then, I think on everything I have ever found interesting; everything from things I saw or heard or thought I aw or heard during my own personal life. I write only the highlights as single sentence phrases, leaving names, places and dates out of it.
I take this odd brainstorm and twist it into a story form and see what comes out.
I have actually thrown away many of these because they did not work out as a story in itself, but they always left behind lingering ideas for something new or something I was already working on.
Again, "different strokes for different folks." Not everyone will be able to use this and make it work for them. Writer's block only breaks when inspiration strikes. This is just my personal method to kind of give "inspiration" a nudge in my favor.

The best thing about being a writer is I get to have some release. Believe it or not, there are a lot of writers of many different genres that find peace, freedom and plain old R&R in writing. I happen to fall in that category.
Writing is my personal "me-time" and I get to indulge in a whole fantasy world and share that with readers that I hope like what thy read.

Don't stop. No matter what. And be who you are.
I tried to write sweet words of romance and it didn't work because that's not my niche.
I love reading romance but I do not have the ability or mindset to write it. That's why I stick with horror or fiction with lots of wild twists involved.
The being said, my best advice is let your mind take off and get lost in your world. Let that play out and write about it. Basically : Always, be you. Write what makes you comfortable as a writer and you will be great.

My inspiration is pretty random. I love scenery, so when I look at a specific setting in real life, I keep it in mind until my personal brainstorm session begins. Then I let my imagination do the talking.

I read a lot of horror and thrillers as well as watching some, too. I know what I like to see or read and it inspired me to deliver that concept into my own work.
