Different things work for different people, in my case, I get a notepad or open a document on my PC these days. Then, I think on everything I have ever found interesting; everything from things I saw or heard or thought I aw or heard during my own personal life. I write only the highlights as single sentence phrases, leaving names, places and dates out of it.
I take this odd brainstorm and twist it into a story form and see what comes out.
I have actually thrown away many of these because they did not work out as a story in itself, but they always left behind lingering ideas for something new or something I was already working on.
Again, "different strokes for different folks." Not everyone will be able to use this and make it work for them. Writer's block only breaks when inspiration strikes. This is just my personal method to kind of give "inspiration" a nudge in my favor.(less)

Believe it or not, there are a lot of writers of many different genres that find peace, freedom and plain old R&R in writing. I happen to fall in that category.
Writing is my personal "me-time" and I get to indulge in a whole fantasy world and share that with readers that I hope like what thy read.(less)
