M.J. Hudon Veronica stared longingly at Jeffrey. He was such a sweet man - tender and delicious.
M.J. Hudon I would go to Narnia to speak with the animals, then skip to Middle Earth to meet the elves and have 2nd breakfast in Hobbiton. ;)
M.J. Hudon How do I deal with writer's block? STEP AWAY! Take time off, work on something else, or relax with a good book from one of my favorite authors: Patricia Briggs, Kerrelyn Sparks, Sherrelyn Kenyon, or Lyndsay Sands. If I'm out of books or just can't focus it's time to go out with friends, get some coffee / lunch, or see a movie, etc.
M.J. Hudon There are a thousand + books, memes, blogs, etc. with advice but so far the best thing I've seen was one of the simplest. "The only thing your first draft has to do is exist."
If anyone were to see my first draft of "Waxing is Useless" they'd never recognize it. The story, the characters, the plot, everything grew and morphed over the years, so even if you think what you are writing is crap, keep writing it.
M.J. Hudon I am currently working on Vol. 2 of the Luna Chronicles. My working title is Lilac City Lunacy and in this story, Miranda becomes stuck mid-transformation looking like Sasquatch - along with a couple of friends she dragged with her in a fit of emotion. If she lived outside of town this wouldn't be such a problem, but as her home is mid-city. . . well, let's just say things get hairy for a while.
M.J. Hudon 16 years ago I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus and a host of other auto=immune issues. When I asked the doctor about support groups in the area he said, "There aren't any." Well, that didn't cut it for me so I started one and got busy spreading awareness at community events. At one such event, an older man walked up to my booth, looked at our banner and asked me if having Lupus meant that I turned into a werewolf. From that, an idea was born.
