B.L. Koller ‘I’m sorry sir, but you need to wear a mask before I can serve you,’ the cashier said. The man refused because he was an inconsiderate jerk who believed that wearing a mask during a global a pandemic was just a political statement.
B.L. Koller The best part of being a writer is getting to share my creations with others. I love nothing more than seeing how people interpret my creations. Once I put it out, it is no longer mine. It is all of my readers.
B.L. Koller Write. Don't worry about your writing being "perfect." Writing can ALWAYS be fixed. Also there is no such thing as "good" or "bad" writing. It is like any art form and is subjective. Practice, practice, practice. Even if you're only writing 20 words a day. Set small, encouraging, doable goals that fit your schedule. Work your way up to larger word counts. (for example my Daily word count goal is a humble 300 words per day.)
You will have good writing days, and terrible days. If you don't meet your goal, don't stress about it. Tomorrow is a new day.
B.L. Koller I'm currently on draft 2 of my second book in the Spirits of Beckton Series. The first book, Rumours From The Attic. It's been fun expanding on Beckton's paranormal history, and providing readers with answers that the first book failed to answer. Having Annie, as a main protagonist this time around has been a lot of fun. She's sixteen, and has a bit of a rebellious streak . Which Kim isn't thrilled with. But having Annie finally be a part of Kevin and Trevors paranormal investigation team is such a delightful experience to write.
For you Young Adult Romance lovers, there's a bit of a love interest plot line for you. ;)
B.L. Koller I had been reading a lot of haunted house novels at the time. My biggest insperation for Rumours From The Attic was a combination of Pet Sematary , and Haunting of Hill House. My friend Devin (Whom book is dedicated to) was the one who reintroduced me to horror.
I forget what scared me off the horror genre, but for awhile I adored horror films, and then one day I must have watched something that particularly disturbed me, because up until I met Devin I had given it up. So I'm gratful he got me back into Horror.
B.L. Koller I read things that inspire me. I'm quite the fan of Alex Garlands 'The Beach.,' so whenever I feel stuck, I read a few of my favorite passages from that.
