I have recently been researching the emergence of the suffrage movement and the trials that women experienced, over many decades, whilst campaigning for the vote. I wanted to use this in my new series.

I am about to publish the first book in a new series. It’s about the struggle women in the 19th century had to become doctors. Medical training was a closed door in Britain and the women had to overcome prejudice and misogyny.
It’s set in Edinburgh in the 1880’s and 1890’s and is called “Against the Odds”,

The best thing is that I can make things happen. I create a world from my imagination and I inhabit that world for the duration of writing a book. I’m thinking of giving a knighthood to one of my characters in my new series, the first book will be published very shortly. “Against the Odds”, book 1 in the Frobisher Family Saga.

I set the writing aside for a short while and usually come back to it within a couple of days and feel inspired.

I would love to visit the world of Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, with the exception of Mordor. I love the idea of hobbit houses with their round doors and windows and, of course I would want to meet the Lord Aragon.
