I can only answer for myself. Others may have different views. When I am writing nothing else exists. I am immersed in my imaginary world. I emerge from my imaginary world at last refreshed, relaxed and reinvigorated.

My next book, "The Contented Widow," set in the Regency period again. The Marchioness of Chelford is young, pretty, rich and a widow with 3 very young children. She has taken over the running and has big plans for the estate but this is not universally popular. Disgruntled servants and tenants, envious relatives and those who want to run the estate instead of her, Lady Penelope is beset by problems. Someone is trying to harm her or her children. When a neighbour, a veteran of Waterloo rescues her from one danger will the culprit be frightened off or will the situation become even more dangerous.
I am also writing a short story set in the same period. Margaret
