Margaret I Holmes was born and brought up in Macclesfield Cheshire surrounded by beautiful countryside. Then when she was 13 the family moved to live on the busy main road to Manchester in Stockport. The difference was traumatic. Her father had been ill but recovered well in the country but amid the traffic fumes he suffered a relapse and was hospitalised for a long time.
Margaret has always written stories and loves reading, writing and history. At this time in her life they were a refuge and solace.
Between the ages of 15 and 17 Margaret spent the long Summer holidays as a Nanny for a family with a holiday home on Anglesey, North Wales. At the age of 17 she left school to help support her mother whose health was also giving cause for conc ...more

talented family

My family is very important to me. I am fortunate in having my daughter, my elder son and his wife and my grandson and his wife living close to me.
