I'm currently working on a second-chance romance that is a spin off from "Driven by Fire". Brandon's twin sister, Bobby, moves to Banff, Alberta to work as a paramedic and pick up skiing again after nearly ten years off the competitive circuit. She runs into her ex-boyfriend and fellow teammate, Luca, whom she left behind without a goodbye after a tragedy that lead to her bombing at the Olympics. Their reunion is tense, to say the least, and Bobby's need to keep the past in the past proves difficult in a small town.

I actually get a lot of inspiration from music. Little one-liners can be the basis for a story, such as "Are we written in the stars or are we written in the sand" by Old Dominion, or "When was the last time you did something for the first time?" by Darius Rucker. I think of how those can be applied to a character or a scene and build from there.

I read a lot of contemporary romance - and by a lot, I mean about three books a week for the last couple of years. It didn't take long to realise that my preference is love stories that take place in my backyard. I identify more with Canadian novels, but they can be hard to come across. I wanted to write a story about my home province, Alberta, because maybe there are other readers out there like me!
