Pittacus Lore, my favourite author, is first on my list with his Lorien Legacies series; J. K. Rowling, surprise, is next with her fantastical Wizarding World; and J. R. R. Tolkien with his Middle-earth Treasury. I am inspired mostly by their epic worlds and the way in which they unravelled their characters.

Well done! To write a story that entertains and teaches children, what a feat.
The Arcane Messenger took about 8 years from the moment of its conception, but approximately 1.5 years of dedicated writing and editing. For me, letting people know the story existed and having beta readers pushed me to keep going. I was once told, "Writers take longer than other artists to grow because they do not share." It does not have to be perfect before we let people read.
It was daunting, and still is, but once I get started, it rolls from there.
