I sometimes feel quite intimidated by the idea of writing a whole real book! So far I've written a short children's book, but the idea of writing a proper full book is such a big goal. The Arcane Messenger took about 8 years from the moment of its conception, but approximately 1.5 years of dedicated writing and editing. For me, letting people know the story existed and having beta readers pushed me to keep going. I was once told, "Writers take longer than other artists to grow because they do not share." It does not have to be perfect before we let people read.
It was daunting, and still is, but once I get started, it rolls from there.(less)
