Having met many aspiring writers and musician over the years, I think the advice I would offer most is to not wait for circumstances to be "perfect" in order to put out your work. There will always be something that doesn't seem just right or some inconvenience, I can tell you with 100% certainty that there will always be something.
Waiting for the perfect time is a sure fire way to never see your work out there. Ask for help, encouragement or a good push and just do it, you will never regret putting it out there. However, you will always regret never having done it.

As a music teacher and music therapist, I knew there had to be a way to introduce music to children when they are very young. Much in the same way that we absorb any other language growing up, I wanted to create a way for kids to absorb music in the same way.
That was how the idea for Color Me Mozart was born and after reigning it over 5 years with all my students, it's finally done.

I am currently working on books number two and three in my series, Color Me Mozart: Musical Lines and Color Me Mozart: Colorful Notes. These books progress in teaching a child how to read and play music.

What's best about being a writer and a creator in general is to see what started as an idea become a physical creation. Knowing that if it wasn't for you, that particular book, movie, song or poem wouldn't exist, I feel, is one of the greatest feelings an artist can have.

I know it’s different for everyone, but being a musician as well as being a writer, I found the best way to tackle writer’s block for me is to schedule time to write. I have tried many times over the years to simply wait for inspiration to hit and then write as much as I can. When I approached it that way, I noticed that i wasn’t producing as much material as I wanted.
I used to think scheduling time to write was not as creative or romantic as we want to believe the creative the process to be. I quickly realized that seeing my vision come to life was infinitely more rewarding than “waiting” for the perfect time to create. I find mornings are a great time to be creative and get a lot done so that’s when I do most of my writing.
