Stop thinking about writing and write.

I was approached by someone at a book signing who had told me a story from her real-life experience. She said she thought it would make a good children's story, so she was hoping I would use it. I told her I would think about it, even though I didn't think of myself as a children's book author. I wasn't keen on the idea, but I didn't completely disregard it either. One night, I was sitting at home, and the idea of the book just came to me, so I went with it.

I watched my dad read the newspaper everyday of my life, and my mom had hundreds of books. So, I guess my parents inspired me to read, and that inspired me to write. It's just something I always wanted to do, so I've always done it.

I recently finished writing a children's book - something I never thought I would do. I have two artists working on the illustrations now, and I hope to publish it in the first quarter of 2021.

Sometimes I just sit and stare at the computer or the piece of paper - whatever I am working on. But, most of the time, I just write out every single thought I have in my head, knowing that most, if not all, of them will not lead to anything. It's more about just physically doing some writing, so that I don't feel like I can't. I learned in yoga teacher training that your mind will often tell you that you can't do something. But, if you just ignore it, you will see that you can, and the easiest way to change your mind is through physically doing, seeing, or touching something that proves it wrong.

I would definitely go to Hogwarts and do absolutely everything there was to do!
