I want to experience JK Rowling's Wizarding World. The magic and the mystique of it has always sung to my soul. Either there, or Lewis Carroll's Wonderland.

A big help is speaking with other authors or - SPOILER - reading! I love to see how other authors build worlds or characters.

I have to be in the right mood to write. My biggest muse is music. But I like to have a specific person I imagine is reading the book. It helps me to imagine I'm telling someone a story, rather than just putting words into the ether.

I'm working on a story currently titled "Where the River Parts" but I don't think the title will stick. I am working on the big battle scene and I'm very excited about it. It has taken a turn I really did not expect. It is about a young elf woman who has to overcome her own history and come to accept the dark sides of people in order to save her family from utter destruction.

I get this question a lot. In 2014 I distinctly remember brushing my teeth and imagining a dark room. I pictured a guy walk in and start introducing his friends to me. I didn't know what the room was or why they were there, but I knew Demetri had a story to tell me. And he was very adamant. I wrote down everything I could remember about his friends and then got to work figuring out what he wanted me to share with you.
