Hana Ferguson Fadness Writer's block is something every writer goes through regardless. It is hard to counsel other writers because each one of us are different in likes and dislikes as I have mentioned before in another question. We all have our own inspirations. Personally, I take walks, cook, clean, and watch videos or find articles based on the type of novel I am writing. While some actions seem like potential procrastination, sometimes doing something else for a while and taking a break helps the mind reset itself essentially and allow new ideas to flow through better. Research is another thing that is extremely important for any writer but it often sparks other ideas for novels and contributes to the novel you are working on presently. Music, food, and art are other aspects of inspiration for when you're in that dreaded writer's block struggle.
Hana Ferguson Fadness I would love to go to Scotland (Outlander fans, you know who you are!). I would explore every part of Scotland that I physically could, including the Highlands . . . and hopefully see some adorable Highland cows!
Hana Ferguson Fadness For the summer of 2021, I would like to read more historical fiction and fantasy---or both! Those are the genres I focus on, but I would like to read more of the classics. . . .
Hana Ferguson Fadness Nature inspires me the most, no matter how cheesy that sounds. The Earth, human nature, and the history of both have inspired me greatly to move forward in writing and studying the history of, well, everything! Find what you like the most personally. It is hard when dealing with writer's block, and even harder when you push yourself to a genre or piece that you don't connect with. Everyone is different. Listen to your likes and dislikes and what inspires YOU the most.
Hana Ferguson Fadness A new novel about a teenage boy in the mid-west during the 70's experiencing difficult times with his mother during the Vietnam War.
Hana Ferguson Fadness Keep writing! No matter how hard it is, one sentence a day is better than no sentence at all.
Hana Ferguson Fadness I got the idea for THE SOUND OF RAIN from simply trying to figure the world out myself. It is based on a girl, who is blind, and is trying to put the pieces together in her life so she can figure out her family's mystery. I wrote TSOR when I was in high school going through an extremely tough time with feelings, living situation(s), and relationships with my family and sometimes friends. I was finally able to finish it and publish it when I graduated high school, moved out, and started college.
Hana Ferguson Fadness Getting to imagine a world of your own!
