Stephen F. Anderson I climb. I find great inspiration hiking in the mountains, which are only about 5 miles from my house. I have several places I go where no one goes and it's very quiet. There, I put away all thoughts about anything that doesn't have to do with what I'm writing about. I focus my thoughts exclusively on what I'm writing and generally all kinds of insights and inspiration come to me. It works for me.
Stephen F. Anderson Write about what you know and what you feel passionate about. Writing a book can be a long and arduous task to make sure you enjoy what you are doing.

I am a firm believer that almost everyone has an idea that they feel would make a good book. However, less than 1% actually make their book a reality. I say if you have an idea you feel strongly about, go for it and make it happen. Don't put it off and regret it at the end of your life.
Stephen F. Anderson I'm currently working on two writing projects. The first one is a follow up of the book I just finished about my DNA experience. I'm interviewing about 200 people who have gone through this experience. I'm finding out the ins and outs of how they are dealing with this discovery and how it has effected their lives. What I am learning is absolutely amazing. It's something I believe the world will find fascinating.

My second book is about my experience of creating and living by my bucket list for more than 50 years. My bucket list has created so many remarkable opportunities that I most likely would not have experienced if I didn't create such a list. It has also gotten me into trouble more times than I care to admit. Let's just say that I never lack for something to talk about at a party. I'm really excited to write this one.
Stephen F. Anderson I have always enjoyed writing. I've kept a daily journal for more than 48 years so I got a lot of practice. I was also a blogger for the FamilySearch blog for 5 years, which gave me lots of opportunity to write. But I think the real inspiration comes from the idea that writing can have a remarkable ripple effect, for good and for bad. I like sharing ideas and true stories about the human experience. Hopefully, by sharing these stories, I might touch someone and make them want to do something good, or feel good about their life and what they are doing with it.
Stephen F. Anderson I was finding so many disturbing things about my family that I had to find some way to give voice to my feelings. I recorded all my discoveries and how I felt about them in my journal for many months. Eventually, I had so much content recorded, that someone suggested I write a book about my experience. As I shared what I learned with my friends, they kept saying, "You really need to write a book about this. Everyone would love to read it." With time, I finally decided to go for it. It was a great way to come to terms with my experience.
