You were right down the road! We grew up in Barrington! Still have some friends and family in the area but don't get back as often. I miss the pizza!

How did our vintage rescue dogs find their way to the safety of our house? I can only imagine their individual journeys, and it would be a fun plot to explore!

My most recent book, "Zuggy the Rescue Pug - Baby's First Friend", was suggested to me. The idea was to offer a heart-warming tale to new Moms, who by reading the story out loud, would enjoy time bonding with their baby. It's a cute little poem about the often-confusing and unexpected speed-bumps of toddler-hood.

I find myself inspired to write in response to a current events either in my life or in the world that has posed some question or controversy. This will usually take the form of a blog post. The writing of Zuggy the Rescue Pug short-story poems, is inspired by the antics of my own silly, sassy and often smart-azzy pug! I'm also inspired by my volunteer work at the Humane Society. Each of those dogs comes in and leaves with their own story. There is inspiration everywhere, if you take the time to look for it.

Another compilation of Zuggy poems. This is an inspirational collection based on Bible stories. It's a bigger work, as I intend it to be an activity book, to include coloring pages and puzzles.

Putting words to paper. I'm old-school that way. From the pen to the paper. Then editing, revising, critiquing - the whole process of making it better. It's such a joy to see how a work can evolve.

If I feel stuck in my writing, I search for a good prompt. I set my timer for 10 minutes and attack it. If I like the theme, I'll keep going with it. If not, the exercise usually jolts me out of my funk and I can carry on.
Sometimes I just need to step away from it, and a brisk walk with the dogs gets the creativity flowing again.

The seasons changed quickly in Colorado. We had our 2nd snowfall of October last night! My favorite book over the summer was: The Ten Best Days of My Life, by Adena Halpern.
On my Fall reading list is Lara's Gift by Annemarie O'Brien.
