So I recently had covid (even though I was vaccinated) and while I could have passed my time writing, I got curious about my family history and started an ancestry.com account. While it's not really a mystery, I found out that I had relatives, father and son, who was a pirate working under Blackbeard. I'd love to know more about their crazy, pirating careers.

I've often read that if you sit around waiting for inspiration, you'll never write. For the most part, I've found that's true. I have to purposefully sit and come up with something. Ideas just don't hit me all the time. I wish they did! Sometimes I sit down, plot out a book, and in the middle of writing it I'll have this existential dread that I'll finish the book and have no idea where I'm going next. But, so far, so good. We'll see how the rest plays out.

My favorite way to deal with writers block is to go see something new, whether it's something as small as trying a new restaurant or travelling to a new city. Fresh experiences always help.

Honestly, I don't even have a clue where this one came from! I knew I wanted to do an enemies to lovers story, and I knew they needed a connection somehow, so I came up with the idea that this future couple would share a mutual best friend. But since I'm like the Edgar Allen Poe of romance, I had to add a tragic angle...therefore mutual friend Seth had to die. Seth's death propels Rowen and Grayson's relationship forward, tears it apart and puts it all back together again.
