I live part of the year in Highland Beach, FL. so I spend a lot of time on the beach. I also have a passion for beach conservation, and rescue dogs - my heart and love goes out to everyone who has rescued one. So what do you know - when Madison, a marine biologist, meets Luke, neither is excited about the encounter, especially when Luke discovers that he picked up Cooper (a pit bull mix puppy) while running on the beach and Madison demands he keep him... and so the story begins.

I read a lot - and I mean A LOT, of romance novels and fell in love with the genre. I suffer from not falling asleep easily, so I started to write stories in my head to fall asleep at night. Before, I knew it, I had a whole novel mapped out. I sat down at a computer and decided to record it. The rest is history. Although, now I'm so tired from working on a computer til late in the night, I fall asleep within seconds!

Book 6 of the Almost Perfect Series. I have the story line plotted out in my head and have bounced it off of a few people - just no time to write it. I'm working with editor on the edits of Taming Zane - book 2 and then have books 3, 4, and 5 to go to edits. Plus, I need to start marketing campaign on Loving Jake, book 1 of the series. It's been out for over a month and the reviews are basically 4 or 5, so I feel good about promoting it now.

I'm in control of everything. Literally. The story, the amount I write, when I write, the success of the book (hey, if I don't promote or write well, my fault!). We can't control so much in our lives but in my books, I control what the characters look like, their flaws, everything - it's quite fun!

My advice for aspiring writers is to write in genre that you're passionate about - not what sells books. The books will sell if they're good. I love contemporary romance (I can't write historical because I don't know enough about historical time periods to feel I could be accurate -that's another piece of advice!) and I love happy endings - knowing that sometimes they take a bit of creativity to get there - that's what I love most.

I literally go out for a long walk by myself or with my dog. I start the first fifteen minutes or so thinking about normal day stuff and things that need to get done, so I can get those thoughts done and over with. Then I I think about what I'm writing and what I've written to-date and try to visualize it. From there, I let the thoughts free flow. Don't let me kid you, there are times that I've literally scolded the characters for not speaking to me! I spent 3 weeks in writer's block for my 6th book and I realized, eventually, that it was because I was worried about the editing of another book. I stopped, completed the editing, and then the ideas started up again - whew!
