The coroner hesitantly pulled back the white sheet, aware of the little form resting beneath. I could have killed them for thinking about their own discomfort in my time of ultimate loss.

I'm sure this is a common answer, but I would probably go the Middle Earth. While there, I would like to vacate in Hobbiton.

I haven't really had writer's block. I always have ideas and stories ready to go. I do, however, face a lack of drive and energy from time to time. It's frustrating, too, because I will WANT to write but cannot do more than a couple paragraphs sometimes. I know WHAT I want to write, but the energy just isn't there. I'm still trying to find ways to deal with this, but reading seems to help. It puts me in the right mindset, gets me excited.

The purging of thought and emotion...writing is extremely therapeutic and exciting. You create new worlds constantly!

Write what you want to write. Don't weigh yourself under genre labels. If you want to write a horror story, then do that. If you want to follow it up with a drama, then do that next. I currently find myself social in the horror community, but I actually got started heavily on crime and drama. My first full-length (due out 2020) is actually just that: a crime drama. I also have a fantasy series in the works, and several science fiction led stories on the way.

I have many projects in various stages of development, but the ones leading include a horror collection, a novella, and a rewrite of a full-length I did in 2018, all of which I aim to release during 2020.

I grew up in a household of writers and readers. My father was an English teacher. It was bound to happen. I wrote as a kid, but then took years off. I returned to it around 2012, about the same time I made a gradual return to reading. THE STAND by Stephen King influenced me greatly at the time, as did his collection, EVERYTHING'S EVENTUAL.

Since I have several projects in the works at all times, I'm going to direct this answer to the novella I have coming out early 2020. It's called SHIFTY THINGS and tells the story of a father, his daughter, and his brother coming across a farm in a dying world. Here, they choose to hide from the shadow creatures that have killed off humanity. Unfortunately for them, the farm holds some terrible secrets that will cost them dearly.
The idea of this came from a brief dream I had, in which a small family was shuffling through a dead forest when a crashing plane soars low above their heads. This is actually how the novella begins.
