J. Dorden The papers rustled on the desk before me. A bitter and vile breeze from a window i knew was shut.
J. Dorden For me, I deal with writer's block by stopping what I am trying to do. I may work on another part of the book, or leaving the book alone for a day or so. I listen or read my favorite books and music. I give my mind a break from it and allow myself to feel inspired by what I love again. Once my mind has had a long enough break, I talk about the book to either my mother or my best friend. I ask questions of my support group. Sometimes that block is easily pushed away after a break or it is your minds way of saying you need to go a different direction. Giving your mind a rest and ability to think clearly can help you figure out what it is trying to say.
J. Dorden I am currently working on the second book, tentatively named, "Course". I am also working on a degree in web and mobile programming so it been a bit difficult to write but I am taking time to make sure that what I do put out is worthy to be read.
J. Dorden I have always loved reading, and I made a cute little book during second grade. My mother and best friend always told me I should write down my ideas and dreams. They kept at me to write until I finally found an idea that I really wanted to tell. I found an idea that mixed some of my favorite things together and wouldnt let me put the idea in a box to be shoved in the dark. So I wrote, and wrote and kept going until I decided to self publish my first book.
J. Dorden My idea for Depths came from multiple sources and inspirations. I love the ocean and all the potential secrets still left to uncover. Mythology and a certain science fiction show heavily influenced my book.
J. Dorden I would go to Mercedes lackeys Valdemar, after the ending of the mage storms series. I would enjoy listening to all the tales from different cultures and give the companions a hand with the itchy spots.
