I see inspirations everywhere. My life plays an important part. Often movies. Actually, I am not a reader. My kindle is full of half read books both trad and self-published. One thing that irritates me is info dump which surprisingly a lot of self-published authors seem to be doing it and defending it as good writing. One writer even advised other new writers to watch documentaries to learn the art of info dump. The other is dry writing.

Books are not the only medium that you can learn good writing. Study films to learn how to show and tell. You can also learn how to create mood and atmosphere by studying films. By studying films, I mean watch it from a director's eyes, scene by scene and pay close attention to an actor's facial expression and how a scene is photographed.
