Prayer. Prayer is the remedy for writer's block. Every day is different. One day I can write 8,000 words and the next day there may be only a few hundred. Faith and Weights With a Side of Cake was written in 27 days and has 27 chapters. During the 27 days, there were days I had writer's block and didn't write at all.

Writing has been therapeutic for my mind and my soul. Receiving feedback from my readers has been rewarding as well. Many women are returning to their faith and being set free from the bondage of their past mistakes; therefore my cup runneth over with joy.

Designating a proper place and time for writing would be my best advice for an aspiring writer. Pray for God to instill creative writing ability and ask him to guide your pen. Designated time in my prayer room for writing and prayer for God's guidance has been a proven success in my journey as an independent author.

Slay, Pray, Managiare is the book I am currently working on and will be released before the end of the year. Managiare means "to eat" in Italian, and my family name was originally Mangiaracina. My great grandfather migrated to the United States from Italy in the early 1900s and changed our name to Menge to join the U.S. Army. Slay, Pray, Managiare will be a 31 day daily devotional, and will include a healthy recipe for each day, as well as a workout plan.

My daughter's old bedroom is my prayer room. Inspiration to write is developed and intensified daily in my prayer room. I pray daily for God to instill in me innovative creativity to write with a purpose and for the words to have meaning. Many times I look at the words I've written and I know they are truly a gift from God because I do not possess any writing degrees.

The idea to write "Faith and Weights With A Side of Cake" developed several months after my retirement as a personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist. Boredom set in and I prayed for God to direct my steps to continue to meet my purpose. My calling as a personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist paved a way to continue my journey to my purpose. My purpose is to tell the world about God's love and mercy, even when we dont deserve it.
