I'd probably zip off to Lothlorien. Not only is it lovely this time of year, but I could also stock up on lembas bread. I'm almost out.

The heavy book snapped shut as it fell from the sleeping reader's hands. They never managed to find their page again.

Too many to count. But one of the major highlights of this summer was stumbling across a copy of Asimov's Robots and Empire in a small, second-hand bookstore. I've reread the Foundation series so many times, I still can't believe I missed Robots and Empire completely, especially since it's such a crucial hinge between the Elijah Bailey books and the start of the Harry Seldon ones. Highly recommended!

Life is a constant inspiration. So many things happen every day. And one of the joys of being a SF writer is that you get to dive into amazing, breaking edge research and themes that add even more ideas and power to your fiction.

Everyone is different, so please don't take this as a general statement, but I'm not certain writer's block is a real thing in my own experience. There have been plenty of moments when I've tired myself out writing, or when I haven't sufficiently thought through a scene yet to make more progress. But I'm not sure "block" is the right term for it. In any case, I've found working on my outlining or on a short story for a bit soon gets me back on track.

You get to create worlds and invite everyone else to come dive into them! It's like a D&D game (or in the case of Always Greener, something closer to Shadowrun) played out in a global scale.

First of all, stop calling yourself "aspiring". If you write, you're a writer. Yoga wisdom applies. After that, arm yourself with infinite patience and rejection-powered mental armor. And make sure to always read, in and out ignore your own genres, with the double eye of the reader and the writer. When you start reading as a writer is when start making real progress in the craft.

Currently polishing off my revisions on the sequel to Always Greener -- the title isn't public yet, but if you pick up a copy of Always Greener, you may get a surprise at the end! I also have multiple short stories and another completed manuscript set in the same universe as Always Greener.

I started working on Always Greener about 12 years ago, when reality TV was still a comparatively new thing, and victimization was becoming more and more rampant. The #LiveYourWorstLife contest concept was the logical projection, and sadly it seems even more probable now than it did then.
