Merry Goodman I dont plan that far ahead. I find a book which strikes me as interesting and I get it, read it, and then get another. Sometimes I'm several books ahead and they get lost in my Kindle (I have 550 in there). I go back through my titles looking for "new" ones. I must confess that I dont finish some books. I lose interest.
Merry Goodman My new book, to be released in February, "The Christmas Surprise" came from buying jewelry for a friend in the store in the story. I did what the Hero did, talk with the sales clerk, as the store was near closing. That was the idea which became the story. Change the characters some, write out a love story, edit it a ton and voila, a book is birthed (soon - still in labor).
Merry Goodman It's fun to think up the adventures, then to make it happen. Now that I know how to publish an ebook, that part is simple. Just to see my books out there is such a thrill. Now, if people would just buy them!!
Merry Goodman Several books, one new one "The Christmas Surprise" which will be out in February I think. Also "Encounter in Nashville," a continuation of the "You Found Me and Loved Me" series (I have more of those which need final edits). I have several more ideas in the brewing stage.
Merry Goodman It's like the Nike slogan - Just Do It. Read a ton of books in your genre, learn from already successful writers. Write out your thoughts, then find some independent Beta Readers to evaluate your work and fix it. Learn to love your editors (a strange thought, as they slash your work with a machete sometimes). Write with abandon, edit with a machete. Get it perfect, or as much as possible. Then put it out there.
Merry Goodman I get to let my imagination run wild (or sort of) and can read it later. To a degree, my books are still my favorites to read, even though I've already read them a bazillion times (it seems).
Merry Goodman I have plenty of other things to do. I get away from the computer and take care of something else and let the problem sit on the back burner for a while. Then, an inspiration comes and off I go again.
