I don't write very well when my heart is not into it so I just find something else to do and then when my heart is in it I go back to writing. Writer's block is usually short-lived for me because I am really enjoying writing. Hopefully, that never changes.

Just start writing. You don't have to be Shakespeare or Harvard-educated. Just be you and write how you like. Some people will like it and some will be harsh critics-it doesn't matter. If it's in your heart than do it. Very few things are as exciting as opening a box and seeing your book with your name on it. The feeling of accomplishment is overwhelming and awesome.

I have been writing since I was a young girl but always thought I had to be a "serious big-word-using author" to be actually taken seriously. After reading several books in which the authors used real-life conversational tones, I realized that it was okay to write the way I want to write and so I just went for it. My book (and future books) are meant to be conversation and fun while addressing topics that are often not addressed by women because the topics are boring or overwhelming. I hope to overcome that so that my readers can be empowered to take control of their finances...even if I am not using the biggest words ever!

After years of watching my female friends not save for retirement because they didn't understand it and seeing one of my best friends go through the loss of her spouse while she had no understanding of her mortgage, bills, insurance, etc...I knew I had to write a book to help my friends and other women just like them so that they could understand their money, start saving, begin investing and living the life of their dreams.
