Xephon -- I held off on answering until today. I started on Biomedical 4 recently and am targeting a April/May/possibly June launch. Microbrewer 2 is halfway written (around 55k words) and will be the next book written. It's possible this will be the last Biomedical book (not fully decided on that yet). If it is I may take the series in a different direction with new characters. Right now I'm focused on writing. Thanks, Jon

Hi Dennis -
I added a short note at the beginning of the book saying that I ran out of applicable quotes. I love them too, but it was getting hard to find one that worked for each chapter that I hadn’t used before.
I won’t say they’ll never come back, and I’m writing a book right now that has a quote at the beginning. So it’s possible if unlikely.

Tree of Life is going to my editor later this month, which means it should be available in June. Biomedical Self Engineering book 3 is the next book going to my editor. The book is written and I think it's safe to say there will be at least one or two books in the series after that.

Well, it wouldn't be a dungeon core world, and it wouldn't be The Land. I wouldn't want to be a stuck in a VRMMORPG game situation either, and not in a harem or post--apocalyptic world.
Maybe something like the first Speedrunner novel, where there are enough challenges to keep it interesting but not so deadly you're going to die right away. What does everyone else think?

The thunder woke her but it was the lightning that got her up to watch crackling streams of electricity fill the sky, some bolts so bright they lit up the empty field of freshly cut corn for miles around. She yawned, ready to go back to bed as the lightning dimmed until a massive flash caused her to shield her eyes for a moment, and when she pulled them away a few, and then many, dead animals, then people, walked unerringly and inexorably toward her house.

The answer is very similar to what everyone says about real estate: write, write, write! Even if you think what you're writing is crap, keep writing. You can clean it up later or even rewrite scenes if they really are bad. Just like other vocations in the world, writing takes time and practice. The more time and effort you put in to it, the better the result.

Personally I think writer's block is a lack of planning. Before you sit down to write you should have a few scenes in your head or jotted down, along with which characters will be in the scene, that sort of thing. Preparation and planning go a long way to avoiding writer's block.

I'm just finishing up Biomedical book 3 which sits at 120k words as I write this. After that I'll finish up book 1 of Microbrewer Alchemist and then start on book 2 of the Tree of Life.

The short answer is yes. I sent book 1 of Biomedical to a proofreader so I could get it ready for audio, although I don't have an exact release date just yet. Because the SyStem books haven't done as well, I don't see those books getting audio for a while yet.
