Because I work on several pieces at a time, I'm fortunate that if I feel a bit dried out, I can move onto something different. However, I will stay with a piece at least an hour before moving on.

Being able to use your imagination and get paid for it! Also, it's wonderful to be at home and throw in some laundry between breaks.

You need to write! Often I bump into people who say they want to write books, but they do not want to make a time commitment. Depending on your schedule, you need to work writing into it if you are serious. No one can tell you how much time you need to spend each week, but if you are serious, you will at least spend a few minutes a week writing. When I finally got serious about writing, I gave myself 30 minutes a week. It could have been anything - writing in a journal, writing a letter to a friend, writing gibberish - but I had to spend 30 minutes a week. Now I spend about 30 hours a week writing.

I have several novels, plays and screenplays I rotate around, but I have two YA novels I'm hoping to get published this year. I also have the sequel to Isasnora Snores finished, but I'm working on edits before submitting it to a publisher.

I do not know how I was inspired to write. It was more about just constantly telling stories. In elementary school I wrote a lot of plays that my classmates put on. When I began babysitting, I would tell silly stories to the kids. They always seemed to like the stories. More importantly to me, however, was that they remembered the stories. Sometimes I bump into these kids, now adults, and they tell me how much they liked my stories and remembered them.

I snored all my life and was teased. I dreaded sleepovers, though to be honest, most of my friends were very kind about it (though there were a few people were not). I wanted a heroine who had to learn to accept herself, and what better way then accepting her loud, glass shattering snoring?
