How do you deal with writer’s block?
Susan Francis I give myself a week off, or I go for a long walk, or I begin editing the pages of the draft already written. Thankfully it never lingers for long.

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Susan Francis Oh I dream about being transported to the dining room in the Bennett household.I want to meet Elizabeth Bennett and watch Mrs Bennett and smell the food they eat, and feel between my fingers the muslin of the dresses. I want to see an England different to now. I realise writing this that I sound very voyeuristic, but not really. Or maybe yes. Ha ha. But the smells and the feel and the taste of life somewhere different fascinates me.

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Susan Francis I've just finished reading Carly Findlay's memoir Say Hello, which I loved, and I'm half way through Chris Hammer's book Silver.
