Susan juggles writing every day with university study and part time teaching. She has worked in various occupations and once served Stevie Wright cocktails in an underground bar in Kings Cross. She has a Master of Letters degree in Australian Literature and has lived in Indonesia, the UK and Spain.

Her second book, Revelation Beach, is released on 1 October 2025. The novel was written with the assistance of an ASA mentorship and a Neilma Sidney Travel Scholarship.
