Hi Diane,
Wow, that is a crazy coincidence. :)
I wanted a happy, Summer-sounding name and Daisy sprung to mind. And then I just went through combinations of surnames, trying to find one that sounded good, and settled on Thorne. To be honest, it just popped into my head, totally random.
It's a pleasure to meet you, and I hope you enjoy the series.
Very best wishes,
Louise

Everything inspires me. What I see, what I read, people I talk to, conversations I overhear. Once you're tuned in to your author-self, you see inspiration everywhere.

I'm currently working on the edits for Death at the Salon, the 2nd book in my Daisy Thorne cozy mystery series. It comes out next year, and it's one of my favourites. You can check it out here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/54445317-death-at-the-salon.

Keep writing. Never give up. You're in it for the long haul. It's very rare you get discovered straight away. Mostly it's hard graft, learning your craft, developing a thick skin, and keep plugging away.

Working in my own time. I juggle my son's busy schedule, the housework, my family and friends, with writing. One day is never the same as the next. I am obsessive about my writing time, though, but I'm totally flexible as to when it is. Sometimes I write from 2 in the afternoon through to midnight, sometimes 5 am till 12 pm, other times it's a normal 9-5. I love the flexibility being my own boss gives me.

I'm a planner, through and through, so I never really suffer from writer's block. I usually have a clear outline, so I know where the story is going. And my characters are larger than life, and if I'm ever stuck, I just ask myself: What would Daisy do?

I live in an English village just like the one in my books. The cute cottages, the meadows, the river carving through it. Idyllic and bucolic. A perfect small town setting for a cozy mystery series.
