Thanks so much for your kind email, Katie! I missed this when it came in—I'm playing catch-up. So glad you enjoy the Cars Origins books.
So sorry to let you know, but while I did write the Cruz Control book and most of the illustrations had been done, Disney/Pixar decided not to publish that book at the last minute. It was my favorite of the three! Huge bummer. Perhaps Cars 3 didn't perform at the box office as well as they had hoped. Of course, I was disappointed, but sometimes publishing can be that way. So, just the Jackson Storm and Lightning McQueen books were published. So—long story short—the book was never printed. I'd love to share the finished story with people, but my contract strictly forbids it.
I wish I had better news for you, but I am glad you reached out to me about that book--I can't tell you how many people have asked me the same thing. And I'm so glad to hear your son enjoyed the first two books. They were so fun and challenging to write. Keep on reading together... those years are the best! Once again, sorry for the slow response, Katie!

This upper-middle-grade sci-fi series has been such a blast to write—it combines late-night adventures, time-twisting mysteries, and my longtime fascination with UFOs and the paranormal. And it's SO different from my previous books.
After 20+ traditionally published books, indie publishing this one is a LOT of work, but I love learning new things—and I’ll admit, I also LOVE being in control of everything! Ha!
