Hi, I’m Dave Keane, children’s author and certified UFO nerd. After years of reading bedtime stories to my own three kids, I began writing the kinds of books I loved sharing with them. My four-year-old son loves Struck By Lightning and Storm Chasing. Is there any way for us to get the Cruz book? He's really excited by the idea of it, and we'd be willing to pay for any version or draft that you have since it doesn't look like it got published. Thank you for your work!

So sorry to let you know, but while I did write the Cruz Control book and most of the illustrations had been done, Disney/Pixar decided not to publish that book at the last minute. It was my favorite of the three! Huge bummer. Perhaps Cars 3 didn't perform at the box office as well as they had hoped. Of course, I was disappointed, but sometimes publishing can be that way. So, just the Jackson Storm and Lightning McQueen books were published. So—long story short—the book was never printed. I'd love to share the finished story with people, but my contract strictly forbids it.

I wish I had better news for you, but I am glad you reached out to me about that book--I can't tell you how many people have asked me the same thing. And I'm so glad to hear your son enjoyed the first two books. They were so fun and challenging to write. Keep on reading together... those years are the best! Once again, sorry for the slow response, Katie!
