Do what works for YOU!!! There are so many articles and blog posts that claim to tell you how to write...write the perfect book, write a bestseller, write the best opening line, how NOT to write, don't do this, don't write this way.... the thing is if you're reading all those articles you aren't doing the ONE thing you actually NEED to do, which is sit down and WRITE!!
Stop looking for the right way and just do it... follow your heart, listen to your characters... more often than not they will show you the way!

Well, writing is something that sets my soul on fire, so most of the time it's not hard to be inspired. That's not to say it's always easy! I do have a process of sorts to get "in the zone". I usually, need to be comfy, either at home or at a coffee shop. Caffeine is usually involved, either ice coffee or ice tea, sometimes hot tea. Then the most important part music! I listen to the exact same two songs, to get myself focused and hyped up, I listen to each one twice. Then I make a specific playlist for each project I'm working on and listen to that while I write! It works for me...Thanks for the question!
