The topic of negotiations is something I have studied for over 20 years. For my first book atleast it made sense to start with that topic. Initially, like most writers, I carried a ton of self-doubt....why would anyone read my book, why would anyone care....then I found a gap in the market for negotiation books: a book that focused on core lessons, was researched backed and allowed the reader to apply the techniques in real time. Most if not all of the other books in this field are story based and difficult to follow.

For me trying to get inspired or trying to motivate myself slowed me done. As soon as I found the power of routine/scheduled writing I moved through the writing and publication process much faster.

I never stop working with clients and business professionals on the topic of negotiations whether it be providing advice to senior executives or mentorship to startup founders my passion for this area of work never ends.

Just do it. The main difference between writers and published authors is the published authors finish their book/work. Procrastination is everyone's worst enemy. If you want to publish a book get a schedule/routine going and don't give up even if it takes years to complete, stay focused!

Having your ideas, research and perspective officially on paper/published helps you to progress to the next idea or concept or area of self-improvement faster.

For me the key was consistency in my schedule. I used an app called "Streaks" to actively remind me to write on a daily basis, it could be 5 mins or 2 hours or new content or prior content correction. Having that schedule helped avoid writer's block which is often caused by a lack of motivation.
