Often it's someone I see, but don't know, or know very well. In my 20's I was a makeup artist and I loved not knowing a thing about a model's real persona and being allowed to create who I saw/wanted them to be. I think now I often see a stranger and I try to imagine their lives and it leads to a story. Also, it could just be a sentence that someone speaks that makes my heart start pounding with ideas related to their random word...like hospital, or kite.

One of my straight friends one day announced, "I need a wife!" I really thought I was going to write something dark and disturbing as I started to put it together, but I couldn't resist turning it into a love story.

I'm really excited about this next one! For now, I'll just say that a woman with a Master's degree in IT creates an app for local businesswomen to use to hire her to run errands for them during business hours...no this is not an erotic pizza delivery story...she's a number's nerd with a heart for serving her community. One thing leads to another, and she befriends one of her clients who happens to be one of the characters from my first book, The First Love.

You have to just do it and commit to finishing a writing goal you set. Don't worry about it being good or even sensible until you've written the last sentence. If you get bored with your character or story, make them un-boring to you.

Writing what I crave to read. Also, getting stuff out of my head. I am obsessed with character creations so this helps me to get the ones in my head a chance to express themselves!
