Lisa Bent This book began as my memoir of my trials and tribulations of dating. I changed direction because I realised the story would be richer as a romance novel supported by characters. This is now Symona's story, her journey.
Lisa Bent I don't get inspired to write, I feel inspired to write. Something I see, hear or read moves me to write.
Lisa Bent Zahra's Journey is a children's illustration book I wrote in 2014 which deserves to see the light of day, so I am working on getting that published.

Sequel to Symona's Still Single? Perhaps, if the demand is there :-).
Lisa Bent Allow yourself to begin.

Do not edit what you have just written. Keep writing. Just keep writing.
Lisa Bent As a writer, I get to play with themes in interesting ways with no restrictions, that is the best thing. However, the most important thing is that I get to touch hearts, nudge, inspire and empower through my words, without having met the reader, I find that amazing.
Lisa Bent For me, writer's block shows up as a train of various indecisive thoughts. I used to get really frustrated by it and try and push through the difficulty but I stopped when I realised it was my brain's way of trying to figure out what happens next in the story.

To deal with it, I take a break away from the computer and when I return, I move onto a different chapter. The answer usually comes when I'm not thinking about it.

Understanding my creative flow and how my blocks show up has been really important within my writing journey.
