Hi Karis, thanks for your question. If you mean do the books within a single series need to be read in order, the answer is yes for The Vazula Chronicles and Heartsong, no for The Kingdom Tales, The Singer Tales, and the two Kyona series (although the Kyona series will be at their best if read in order). If you mean do the different series need to be read in a particular order, the short answer is no, although some series may be enhanced by being read in order compared to other series. The long answer is here on my website: https://deborahgracewhite.com/reading... where I explain what series are in which world, and which ones are connected vs standalone. Hope that helps! Deborah

Hi! I think what got me into writing fairy tale retellings was reading other indie authors' retellings. It's such a fun genre, and it made me want to try it out for myself. It's very hard to pick a favorite fairy tale...I really liked The 12 Dancing Princesses as a child, and also Thumbelina. But The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast are also favorites!

Hi Michelle
Thanks for your encouragement! I'm so happy you're enjoying my books! As for recommendations of platforms, I know that some of my books are available as audiobooks on Libby (the online library platform) where I am, in Australia, but I'm not sure about where you are. And they're all available on KU. If you haven't already done so, I believe you can do a month-long free trial, which might be a chance to read some and see what you think!
All the best,
Deborah

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it 🙂 Rekavidur is actually inspired by the Icelandic word for "driftwood", which is "rekaviður". I don't pronounce the character's name even remotely the same as the word is said haha. But that was the inspiration, because he's a restless character, wandering across oceans like driftwood!

Great question! If we had to cast her as a real world person, I’d probably picture her as Latin American. So glad you enjoyed the book!

Hi Abby, I'm so sorry I missed this message! You may have figured it out by now, but The Kyona Chronicles leads straight into The Kyona Legacy (they are a generation apart, so The Kyona Legacy is about the children of the The Kyona Chronicles characters). The Vazula Chronicles is set a couple generations later (some of the main characters of The Kyona Legacy appear in this book as grandparents of the Vazula main characters!). Thanks for your interest 🙂

Great question! There’s no special reason. The cover artist and I just added objects as we thought they fit and where we thought they would add to the cover overall. In Felicity’s case, the roses around her were the significant object from her story. In Wren’s case also (Kingdom of Feathers), the swans around her are her significant “item”, but the model happened to be holding a flower, and we thought that was a nice touch. Thanks for your interest!

Hi, thanks for your interest! My next fairy tale series is to be set in a new world, with a different magic system. You can find more details about my release plans (including that series) on my website here: https://deborahgracewhite.com/schedule/
There will be six fairy tales. Current plans are for them to be based on: Snow White, The Little Mermaid, East of the Sun West of the Moon, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and Jack and the Beanstalk 🙂
