Thin air? I donno. I sat down at the keyboard and started writing a scene and it sort of morphed from there. I know other authors (on line) who have told me to write a story arch and get the whole thing down before you write and such. I just write! When I got to the end of my first book I had sat down and started writing more of the story to that point when, suddenly, I was at the ending! Up until that specific point in time I had no idea how it'd end! I was quite surprised!

I've always liked good stories but never pursued it because I though I wasn't 'good enough'. The way some authors can paint with words and build a 'feeling' around their story was always cool to me. I've matured enough now to understand that if I like it then that's what counts. If others like it, that's the frosting on the cake. I sit down to write every day, if only a line or two. My inspiration is telling a believable and fun story. Sometimes I write a lot, sometimes I skip a day or two.

LOL! Good question! First, the second book of my Companion series. That's proving to be more fun but also more difficult as I've improved in my craft so I'm a little more specific on what I expect from myself. Second, on a mystery. Something I thought I'd never do because it'd be to difficult but, lo and behold, here I am!

Just write but understand that you only really need to please yourself with your writing. If YOU'RE happy with the story that's usually enough. Unless, of course, you are thinking of making a living from it. In that case its not storytelling but wage earning and you have to please your audience. If nobody reads my books that's fine! Writing it and presenting it was always the goal for me. Whats YOUR goal?

Just take a break. That's a problem if you look at writing as work because you feel guilty when you're not doing it. But, for me, writings fun! So I just stop playing that game for awhile and go play another. The opposite side of that coin is, however, when you think up a way to move forward, drop everything and go write it down before you forget or overthink it. Do it now!

That's a tough one. There are lots of "worlds" but its all dependent on the story. For example, I liked the Harry Potter world but if I was a muggle it wouldn't mean much to me. I guess a world where space travel and galactic civilizations exist and with me having enough resources to explore it. But the story's the thing!

I don't really have list. I surf through what genre's interest me and pick and choose. Usually scifi but also historical fiction and mysteries.
